Re: Adrian Peterson back with the Vikings
Yep! I don't see him meeting his goal of 2,500 yards but if he stays healthy he should be able to reach 1,500 and that is pretty good. As long as the Vikings in games I don't really care what AP's stats look like.
Re: Adrian Peterson back with the Vikings
peterson is hands down the best running back to ever play the game. i doubt he catches emmitt smith in total career yards or touchdowns but emmitt played for 15 years and probably leads the league in all time carries. not to metion he had a great line a HOF qb and WR etc. peterson runs behind just an average line and doesnt have a lot of weapons in the offense with him. hell i still think barry sanders is better than emmitt. emmitt had 4409 career rushing attempts for 18355 yards and 164 tds. thats only 4.2 yards per carry and, again, behind a really good offensive line.
sanders carried the ball 3062 for 15269 yards and 99 tds. thats 5.0 yards per carry and he accomplished all of that behind a poor offensive line. sanders also topped the 2000 yard mark in a single season which is something smith never accomplished. sanders have 5 or more yards per carry in 5 seaons. he averaged 6.1 in 1997, the year he topped 2000 yards. smith had just one season where he averaged 5 or more yards per carry
sanders retired at the age of 30! if he would have played 5 more years then he would have the career yardage record easily. he could have reached 20000 yards.
how does peterson stack up to the two legands? he has 2054 carries (prior to this season) for 10190 yeards and 86 tds. that is also 5 yards per carry. peterson averaged 6 yards per carry in 2012 when he ran for 2097 yards, just 8 yards shy of eric dickerson's single season record. this was just one year after suffering an acl and an mcl tear. peterson is the same age sanders was at the time of his retirement but peterson has missed alot of games in his career because of injury and also played in just 1 game last year before being suspended.
sanders played in 153 career games and averaged 99.9 yards per game. peterson has played in 104 games and averages 98 yards per game. smith played in 226 games and averaged 81.2 yards per game.
so who is the greatest of all time??????

Denver held AP in check other then the 48 yard touchdown run. Minnesota needs to do something to upgrade their line. They gave up like 6 or 7 sacks to the Broncos.

Dang you really put some work into that huh? Interesting to compare all the numbers. I'd go with Barry Sanders as the best of all time with AP #2 and Smith #3. Waltor Peyton and Eric Dickerson would round out my top 5.

Re: Adrian Peterson back with the Vikings
I know Peterson was the NFL's leading rusher this year, but I wouldn't mind seeing them put him on the trade block in the off season. He's got a huge ego and really wasn't impressive this year. I doubt he has more than 3 or 4 more years left in him, so why not test the waters and see if anyone makes a legit offer. If you can get a 1st round pick, take it! A 2nd round pick, definitely consider it. Anything less than that is not worth it.
The Vikings are very young and have a ton of talent and the perfect coaching staff. They only need a couple pieces and they could become the best team in the entire league.

Hey Ophion
Did you see the Pet Detective movie ? With Sean Young
That Vikings game ending made me think of the ending of that movie and laugh.... THE LACES HAVE TO BE FACING AWAY!!! Says Sean
And Jamaal Charles going down was the thing that turned around the Cheifs season with West and Ware filling in

Re: Adrian Peterson back with the Vikings
I could see how trading AP would make sense. The reasons you mentioned are valid. McKinnon is a quality back and Asiana is a good power back. I could see them getting a 2nd rounder. They need to fix the offensive line that's for sure. They need a good deep threat receiver, a linebacker to replace Greenway and a safety to upgrade over Sendejo. Other than that they are great.

Re: Adrian Peterson back with the Vikings
Just saw a mock draft that had the Vikes taking Scooby Wright, the LB from Arizona. He had injury issues, but he is a hell of a linebacker. Him, Barr and Kendricks would make up a dominant group of LBs. So yeah, I am all for that pick if that's something the Vikings would be interested in.
