I can kind of vision what you are saying, but not completely. Do you have any graphics you can post to help me get a better picture of what you are describing?

In the comment box there is an "insert image" tab to post photos. Or if it is linked somewhere else, there is also an "insert link" tab.
Re: my solving of the 340 .... a little bit
Just curious what do you think the 340 cipher solved would be worth to a major newspaper or magazine ?
true most do not want to pay for info ,but they charge a fortune if you need to use their articles
We are talking about a very big 45 year old mystery .
In a big city it would be a 50% increase in sales IMO then they sell it to other papers too.

Re: my solving of the 340 .... a little bit
How much would a 340 solve be worth to a Newspaper? Worthless.
Ring the Chronicle and announce you've solved a Cryptogram from the Sixties referred to as the 340, a cipher sent by 'Zodiac.'
They'll probably tell you send your solution to the Editor along with the other twenty 340 solves that have been addressed to the editor that month alone.

True. Unless it is proven to be solved, the papers (or any media for that matter) will have no interest since it's been nearly 50 years.
Re: my solving of the 340 .... a little bit
there are what 4-5 posted on the web ? a credable solution would be of value though
A british math wiz stated the 408 was proven by algorythm to be correct to less than 1 in a million , that type of solution is what I'm talking of
...but nearly all want complete free ownership to anything they recieve

I don't think anyone should expect any type of reward for cracking the cipher, but I think they should be rewarded, especially if it were to lead to an arrest and conviction.
Re: my solving of the 340 .... a little bit
I'm not certain he got it but
The guy that told police
He isn't that Whitey Bolger was to get 2 million.
