Larry's middle name?
Does anyone know what it was? I'm sure it is posted somewhere, but my dumb ass can't find it. I found a Lawrence M. Kane in the 1969-70 SF directory. It doesn't list an address, just a phone number and says he worked at Massachusetts Indemnity and Life Ins. Co. Anyone know if that is the right Larry?
I'm pretty sure some agent from that same life insurance company was trying desperately to get in touch with William Thoresen III around the time that Valerie Percy was murdered in 1966. The FBI found a business card of the insurance company on the front door of the Thoresen mansion and they had interviewed an agent from the company who had been trying to reach Thoresen to discuss some things about his policy. I'm pretty sure it was the same company, but could be wrong. Does it matter? Probably not. But it means there's a small possibility that Kane and Thoresen knew each other.
EDIT: Thoresen's policy was with Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Company. Is that a different company? The name is a little different. Here is the thread discussing the FBI's search for Thoresen to question him about the Percy murder: https://zodiackiller.forumotion.com/t116-valerie-percy-murder
I think Thoresen could have been involved somehow in the Stine murder, and I really like Kane as a suspect. As you probably know, I really like the "team Zodiac" theory so finding two (or more) good suspects who knew each other would be pretty vital.

Bringing this over from another thread...
"He didn't have one. I've been told that he sometimes listed his middle initial as 'M,' but as of yet I haven't been able to verify that."
He also used the name Lawrence "Steven" Klein.
Massachusetts Indemnity (1255 Post St.) was only a short distance from where Kane was living at the time, so there's a pretty good chance that this was him.
Re: Larry's middle name?
Ok, thanks. I was pretty sure it was him but not completely sure. I think Alex Lewis had found Kane's home address in San Fran in 1969 and that it wasn't far from Mason and Geary. I will double check when I get a chance.

Ah, yeah - I was going to mention that in my original post but it must have slipped my mind. His address in 1969 was 217 Eddy Street, a six minute walk from the intersection of Mason & Geary and a five minute drive from 1255 Post St.
Re: Larry's middle name?
Yeah, that's right. I was actually on Alex's site a couple days ago reading up on Kane and thought the address was on there. I think ALA is the best suspect on paper, but Kane would probably be at the top of my list because of his locations at certain times as well as his criminal history.
