Oliver & Isabel Stine
Oliver Charles Stine was born Oct. 30, 1877 in Pennsylvania. Yep, October 30th. In 1905, he married Isabel Longdon. He was one of the more prominent members of the Bohemian Club. Oliver and Isabel lived in the Russian Hill area of San Francisco and were very close friends with the Livermore family that I have posted about a couple of times. The Livermore family sold a home to Oliver and Isabel Stine in 1920. The home was located at 1071 Vallejo St. in San Francisco's Russian Hill.
Isabel was obsessed with Japanese culture and she was also a co-founder of the San Francisco opera... Mikado anyone???

Re: Oliver & Isabel Stine
I'm going to try to find more photos and put together a list of family for Oliver and Isabel.
Re: Oliver & Isabel Stine
Ok, they had three children: John (1907-1985), Helen (born around 1910) and Oliver Charles Stine Jr. (1911-1980)...
April 18, 1935 Oakland Tribune article:
"Announced Mrs. Isabel Stine Leis of San Francisco today announced the engagement of her daughter, Miss Helen MacLeod Stine to Mr. Ernest Dunlap Mendenhall, son of, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dunlay Mendenhall Jr., of Piedmont. Mr. and Mrs. Mendenhall and their son have been occupying an apartment across the bay during the Winter season. Mrs. Mendenhall will sail tomorrow for the Orient for a four month cruise and will be met in Honolulu on the return trip by her husband. The two are to enjoy six weeks sojourn in the Islands. Miss Stine is the daughter of Mrs. Isabel Stine Leis and the late Oliver Charles Stine. She is a sister of John and Oliver Charles Stine Jr."
So Oliver was either deceased by this point (1935) or he and Isabel may have divorced. I know that Isabel later married a man named Francis William Leis, but I have no idea when they were married. and Isabel remarried. There is no mention of Oliver in the 1920 census for the house that Isabel and the children lived at:
http://us-census.mooseroots.com/l/13904052/Isabelle-Stine
This lists Isabel (although it does spell her first name wrong) as the head of household. It lists the three children, Isabel's father, Benjamin Longdon, and three employees. Geez, they were so rich that they had three employees living in their home. Must be nice. Benjamin Longdon passed away that same year, 1920.

Yep, Oliver DID die before the 1920 census. He died Jan. 24, 1918.

Re: Oliver & Isabel Stine
April 3, 1941 article from the San Anselmo Herald:
"Friends of Miss Anne Greene share her happiness since the announcement of her engagement to Oliver Charles Stine. The wedding will be at the family home in Ross on June 28. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Crawford."
Pretty sure this is Oliver Jr.
