The 69 Summer of Love Concert playing a part in killing?

In Golden Gate state park there was a rock /folk concert that weekend . Some 4500 ft from the crime scene 12 -13 blocks ? The Greatful Dead playing ,Jerry Garcia dedicated one concert to the zodiac killer ,not sure if it was this one but he was obcessed with him by the news back then .I think he /they ....Zodiac ,attended it . This concert would have taken place on fri to sun IMO as most big ones did . There mst have been thousands camping , walking the nearby streets . also it would be a place Z could kill more couples ,the park is huge

I would have loved to attend this concert. Hendrix and Grateful Dead! Jefferson Airplane would have been cool to see, too. I can just imagine all the LSD that was taken at this concert!

I think the cab hit was about getting control of the cab ,then cleaning it up and acting as a cab driver to pick up victims ....he could easily done what he said he would ...kill a dozen over the weekend , but foiled by the kids seeing him
how do you figure 11 days after .... it was the next day  but the camping and local smaller bands were there when paul was murdered.... I saw where The Greatful Dead usually played sat nites only

Yeah, everyone knew of it I'm sure, but was Z a part of the "hippie" crowd? Most people who weren't hippies hated them. I could see Z attending this concert either because A) he was into that type of music and maybe even the hippie lifestyle to some extent, or B) there would be hundreds of youngsters frying their brains that would make for easy targets.

The concert was the day after the murder of Stine 10/11/69 but I think this was a 2 or 3 day event starting Fri night a concert in San Jose ,the Dead played on 5/7/69 drew 140k people

Sorry I read the poster wrong. I thought it said Oct. 22nd. Being the very day after the Stine murder is pretty interesting. Could be a coincidence, or it could be that the killer(s) had some sort of tie to the festival. Thinking about it, maybe Z was from the Vallejo area and came to S.F. to attend the festival and party all weekend. Would explain why he was in a "new area" and why he decided to change his "normal routine" of killing couples at lovers lane type places. This is making me think of all kinds of new things and new questions to ask.

from the people who were teens back then they said there were no more lovers lanes for a while, years really police stopped anyone from parking like that and not many tried anyway,in the bay area Sandy betts weighed in said as much

That makes sense in the smaller towns like Vallejo. I'm sure in a city like San Francisco kids didn't really have to go to places like that because there was more to do. I grew up in a small town and the kids would spend a lot of time hanging out outside of town limits. We would go to lakes and party or just cruise dirt roads because cops dis not go out there.

Do you think maybe Z murdering Stine so close and just a day before was his way of warning people not to go to the concert? I bet Z was a hippie hater. He probably despised them and wanted to ruin their fun.

This would be a friday,saturday, and sunday concert IMO with th he 100,000 plus fans most with out a car you could not get them there in one day . The dead had a clause I believe that they were to play saturday night, and usually played again sunday but no guarranty, other smaller bands played too but were unnamed
Also with that many people the area would be swarming with people walking the streets

A side note the Greatful Dead also played a halloween themed concert on the night CJB was killed in San Jose

And the filmore in SF on Sept. 27 1969. 
And exibition hall  LA on Dec 20 1968
Seems like a pattern here

Probably a coincidence but what could it mean if not? Could Z have been a Dead fan or maybe he hated them so much he killed on days they had concerts?

I say he loved the band it was a weird cult that made up their fans ( the die hard ones)
In the warm months they played almost every weekend  ...I read in an article decades ago. Maybe in 94 when they played lalapaloosa here  that some fans became very depressed or violent when TGD were playing a big concert and they could not attend .
