the Yosemite park ranger

I watched a Cold case Files TV show back in Jan. 2010 and one day it was a hour devoted to the zodiac killer saga. after detailing some of the killing events ,it stated park workers at Yosemite national park contacted police in late 69 about a park ranger there that acted strangely at the time of the killings and closely resemmbled the composite sketch ( not sure which one)
I think it said they saw him on trails watching/ stalking hikers and acting angrilly , and talking to himself
I mentioned this at the other site and many regulars said -no we have never heard anything like this ,but morf said yes there was a mention of the ranger in the FBI files his name redacted though . it was at the old site he didn't bring it to the newest site
The present Cold Case Files TV zodiac show on line, does not mention this ,like it was taken out . Bill Curtis stated for a while police thought they had their man
seems he was ruled out from hand writing, .

I remember reading something about a park ranger, too. I want to say it was a guy who worked at a park near the Cali/Nevada border, but I don't remember exactly. I could see Z being a park ranger. If police liked the guy but ruled him out strictly on handwriting then he should be looked at again!

He was the first major suspect or POI in the case by what the fbi files said in my book
It would make sense of the placement of the Kathlene Johns attack
as hiway 130 ( think thats the #) is the best shot leaving park headquarters at Yosemite heading to San Fran thru Modesto

yes the name was there but inked out by the FBI,so no way to tell who it was.

at Yosemite on El Capitan mnt. there is a climbing route named Zodiac think it was named in 72 or 73 but it is Z shaped and may have been called that by climbers before that

Don, this Yosemite ranger had a brother who worked for the Napa County Sherrifs office, right? Or is this a different ranger?

It could very well be. I have tried to find more information on these two brothers, but haven't really found anything yet.

There's a Zsearcher named Thomas Horan who has this theory that the whole Zodiac ordeal is a hoax. He's put forth some effort on this; it isn't just drunk talk, even though I think he's very wrong, or worse.
Anyway, those two brothers are a pretty big part of his theory. It's after 2:00 here so I won't look right now but I'll try and find ya a link about it here soon.

I saw ophion gave Thomas horan a whole bunch of shit on one of his youtube videos lol it was pretty funny to read. the theory that there was no zodiac killer is kind of a joke

I mean, sure it's possible that he is right. I doubt it, but it is possible. I like giving shit to anyone who has "solved the case" because they get mad easily and I like to push their buttons.
