Re: The movie thread
I think he is a desent actor just not a very good comedian ( he is some what of a straight guy that gets screwed & almost anyone can pull that off)or takes acting jobs for the $$$$ as in spin-offs I kept waiting for the laughs in the Hangover , ok the tiger was good .
Kristen Wig sucks as a main charactor movie star ,but very good in small doses I see Ed as the same way
most movies are directed to the 15 yr old crowd with a few scenes thrown in for adults nowadays all about the green.

Oh man I can't stand Ed Helms. No talent whatsoever. How is he even an actor? Kristen Wiig isn't all that bad but not great either.

Just watched Adam Sandler's new film, the Do-Over. It was actually really good. David Spade was good in this movie.

I watched it last night and didn't think it was all that good. Sandler hasn't made a good film in years.

Re: The movie thread
It wasn't "great" but pretty good story with good acting. The best movie Sandler has done in a long time IMO.

I enjoyed the new Sandler movie quite a bit. The prior one was good as well, The Ridiculous Six.

Most people I have talked to didn't like the Ridiculous 6, but I thought it was an ok movie. Not great, but I would buy it out of the $5 bin at Walmart. The Do-Over was better. I like David Spade, and I thought he did a good job in this one. The part where he gets ball sweat on his face was hilarious.

r6 had some funny moments for sure but was overall just a little above average while the do over was the best thing sandler has done this century. it wasn't overly funny but the story was great

You recommended this to me probably a year or so ago and I loved it. Think I might watch it again here in a few minutes.

Re: The movie thread
I make no apologies for My being a film buff and specifically genre's of Horror (Teen Slasher Movies) and Comedy.
There is only One Movie I have seen that I can honestly say spoke to Me on some level and in a way that I had never experienced up to the point of watching it for the first time in my mid to later teens.
That Movie was 'The Breakfast Club', a Movie that was Written, Produced and Directed By John Hughes, 'The' Man when it comes to Teen Movies. Hughes was responsible for other 80's classics such as 'Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Licence to Drive and Ferris Bueller's Day off' and brought us 'Home Alone' in the 90's.
I watched Breakfast Club when it was aired on Channel 4 One Night. The very next morning I was the first customer in WH Smiths asking did they have a copy of Breakfast Club which they didn't but did order it through their supplier which came in about 1 week later.
Here's a clip of John Bender (Judd Nelson) as He demands they: "SHOW DICK SOME RESPECT!"
In another instance Claire has asked Brian why H didn't want Her knowing that He was still a Virgin and Brian answers:
"Because it's My Business, it's My personal and Private Business!"
John Bender: "Well Brian, it doesn't sound like you're doing any business."

Bender asks Brian what they do in His Social Club:
Brian: "Well, in Physics we uhh, We talk about Physics, the properties of Physics...."
Bender: "So it's sorta social, demented and sad, but social, right?"

Great movie! Love the cast. John Hughes was one of the best film makers on the 20th century.

He was. Such a talented writer and producer that was taken too soon at just 59.

Re: The movie thread
John Hughes died at the right time before he started making bad movies, which happens with everyone. His resume was pretty damn impressive.

A good friend of mine has set up a forum to discuss movies, TV shows, music... entertainment in general I guess. I will post the link once I remember it.

I only watched the first 20 minutes of vacation and had to shut it off

Re: The movie thread
I'm hearing rumors of a movie about H.H. Holmes to be directed by Martin Scorsese and star Leonardo DiCaprio. Pretty wicked sick!
