Will the 340 ever be solved?

What to you guys think?

A better question... what if it IS solved and it gives no clues to Zodiac's identity? But no, I don't think it will ever be solved. So many people have tried and put in a ton of work, but no positive results. However, I do enjoy seeing people's work on it and some of the theories that go with.

Seems like you guys are fishing for something?
I dont know maybe it is easier than some make it out to be .  You know the bulk of it is going to be threats ,boasts,  claims

I kinda think there is nothing to the 340 and it was created to make people chase their tails. What are the chances that not one single person could not solve the thing in nearly 50 years?

I pretty much agree and think it's probably unsolvable.
Or it might have personal meaning to its author but can't be understood by anyone else, period.

So many people have tried and taken a ton of different approaches and still nothing. If Randall Clemons' theory is right then there is nothing to solve because the 340 is actually a grid and not a code/cipher.

It depends on what level. Maybe every intricacy won't be revealed due to the passing of time, but the majority of it is solvable. Having opened up a large proportion of it, I'm quite confident of a substantial reveal this year.

Maybe your question might be, "once cracked, who will recognise it as so"?  A small percentage going on past evidence I'd say.
