Motive?

If Ross Sullivan was the Zodiac, what would his motive have been?
His father passed away just a couple months before the first confirmed Zodiac attack. Ross hated his father, but maybe he wanted to patch things up with him and was too late, causing Ross to flip out?
Ross was nearly 300 lbs., and could not get women. He was able to make friends with them, but none of them wanted to be involved with him romantically. That could be a motive. Especially in the murder of Cheri Jo Bates.
What other motives could Ross have had?
