Breaking the pattern
Why did Zodiac break his pattern of attacking couples in remote areas? This time he murdered a lone man and within city limits.
What are your thoughts?
One idea I had is if Zodiac moved to the city (San Francisco, that is) then maybe he wanted to send a message that anyone and everyone could be next.

Re: Breaking the pattern
I think the Stine murder is the key to the whole puzzle. Why kill a cab driver in San Fran instead of killing couples in remote areas like before. It makes no sense. I don't think Z lived in San fran, I think he killed Stine while visiting the city but I think he lived in a smaller town somewhere between San Fran and vallejo.
