Re: The Red Phantom letter and envelope
Is there a post on here about that young kid that called himself red phantom back in the 1940s?

Yeah there is a thread, but I can't link it because I am on my phone tonight instead of the computer... there is also a thread in the secret suspect section where we can post info on anyone who could have possibly been Pigeon Boy.

The handwriting is much different than all Z letters. How was it determined that this was sent by him? I know Sherwood said it was Z, but why? What made him come to that conclusion?

Re: The Red Phantom letter and envelope
My personal opinion is that the person who wrote the Z letters made his handwriting a little sloppy to disguise it a little bit. I don't think he had good handwriting in every day life, but I think he did dabble in different styles of writing and this letter could be one of those. It looks like he thought this particular style was a good match for the topic of the letter.
I am like that myself. I have decent handwriting, but when I write anything more than a couple paragraphs, my writing gets a little bit messier because my hand gets cramped up. I think the writer of the Z letters may have had that problem as well. I also use different writing styles at times, depending on what I am writing.
