The Martial Arts anyone?
Anybody here interested in the martial arts? Tae-Kwon-Do is a sport close to my heart having been lucky enough to be trained by The Welsh National Coach Gianni Peros. See here: http://gianniperostagb.com/GP_TKD/Instructors.html
I represented the T.A.G.B in competition and won silver and bronze medals. I even made the local newspaper under the article banner 'Future Stars'.
Its one of my biggest regrets not continuing on in the sport I loved. Anybody else into this field of fighting?

Re: The Martial Arts anyone?
The above could be viewed as a bragging statement which I categorically and emphatically admit and agree. It only appears as a bragging right due to it being exactly that lol.
However, I also don't mind it when the laugh or joke is at my expense and so, the reporter who featured Myself & several team mates under the title 'Future Stars' obviously did not see my excelling performance against the Welsh Champion (undefeated at the time) and how I taught Him how to kick the living shit out Me! I got demolished without prejudice or sympathy. I returned to training licking my wounds and telling myself how unfair it was that I draw the National Champion jn round Two.
I'm not bitter about my loss via total flawless victory though, I wished Him all the best post fight and then demanded Giannie, My Coach, go smash Him to shit to which He politely refused.

That tournament and loss taught Me that it isn't just a saying but, there really is always someone better just around the corner.
Yeah I was pretty good at what I did, that kid I drew was just far better. In between round one and two My corner advised me to change strategy, and I sarcastically replied 'Good idea, let me start the next round with a bastball bat or tyre iron.'
The truth is, He was simply brilliant at His craft. A deserving National Champion who's counter or defense style fight skills were something to admire and be in awe of even though you know that actually, Alex, Your getting smashed up by this genius. :-)

Anyway, Tommy Lee vs Dae Hahn fight scene from 'Best of the Best'.
The two opposing fighters are real life Brothers, Philip and Simon Rhee.

Eric X is (or was?) into martial arts at some point. Not sure if he still is or not. Me personally, I always liked martial arts but never had the chance to learn any. My parents couldn't afford lessons so I pretty much just had to teach myself how to street fight.
Re: The Martial Arts anyone?
I took karate but that was many years ago, from ages 6 or 7 until I was about 12 and then I quit to play football instead.

Ahh yes, The Karate Kid! Very very realistic film that sees the secret to winning Gold at an Olympic Tae,-Kwon-Do fight is mastering the Wax On, Wax Off Ancient Art, hmmm?? Did you see the Karate Kid remake with Will Smith's dumbass son and Jackie Chan? What a shitty movie that was! And it wasn't even karate in the movie. Way to cash in again, Hollywood!
