The Hunt for the Zodiac series on History Channel
They have already aired three episodes. I'm sure you are all aware and have been watching. I like it, but at the same time there are things I don't like about it.
I really loved seeing them look at the 13 phases of the moon, which was originally found by Richard Grinnell and posted on his website. Can all that be just a coincidence, all of the crimes happening on Dali days?
Some of the things happening with the 340 are kinda cool, but I think they should look at Randall Clemons' work and see if they can add anything to it.
It will be interesting to see what they find when examining Cheri Jo's pants and testing it. Apparently there may be an arrest made soon for her murder! Only thing about that is, if they have something on someone, wouldn't they have made an arrest already?? If they do arrest someone then that rules Ross Sullivan out as a suspect in her murder and likely means that Cheri Jo was not a Zodiac victim, which I was kinda 50/50 on in the first place.
What's the deal with this "new cipher" on the Donna Lass missing poster? Has anyone seen this cipher before? I think they said they had thousands of people try to crack it, yet I have never even seen or heard of it before. On the show they are checking out a possible solution from a Texas man (who is this man and was he looked into??), why his solution? How can we find out more about this?
Larry Lowe... good ol' Larry. Ed Rust's information on Kane must have included information on Lowe. Is Rust a member of Morf's site or did he find Lowe on his own? Anyways, seeing Lowe appear and do an interview with the detectives was kind of cool, but something has always seemed off about the guy. Even more so after seeing him on TV. He looked nervous and I got the impression that he was lying. I guess if Rust did connect him to Kane then he probably did know Kane really well as he claims, but when he said Kane had some Zodiac thing hanging on his wall (I forget what he said it was specifically), I didn't buy that one bit.
What does everyone else think of the show??

It was an astrology calendar -
Re: The Hunt for the Zodiac series on History Channel
Yes, thank you! Do you think Lowe was telling the truth about Kane having that on his wall?

I don't really know enough about Lowe to assess his credibility. In listening to the interview, he doesn't necessarily (to my ear) come across as accusatory; at no time does he comment upon Kane's viability, or lack thereof, as a suspect. Therefore, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, I'm inclined to believe that he was telling the truth.
Actually, an astrology calendar wouldn't be at all inconsistent with what little we know of Kane's proclivities. While I'm not at liberty to expound any further on the matter (as it largely involves the work of another researcher), I will say that Kane is confirmed to have had, at minimum, a passing interest in the esoteric.
Re: The Hunt for the Zodiac series on History Channel
Good points... There is just something that makes me suspect Lowe, not sure what it is about him. I'm sure we will find out more in the next episode, and I'm glad they are looking at Kane! I wonder what other information Ed Rust has on him. It's getting pretty exciting!
I have been trying to find that mugshot that they showed of him, but cannot find it anywhere.

Episode 4, hmmm....
I handwriting expert says the Albany letter is from Z. I never thought so, but the dots probably can't be a coincidence. Now I'm 50/50 on this letter.
Donna Lass still not found. Shocker.
This Craig guy cracks the 340 and finds the name Richard M. Nikson, hahaha. I can't find anything on a person with that name, that spelling of the last name anyways, although there was a Richard Nickson who wrote a movie called Pictura in the early 50's. If this Craig guy really cracked the code then Zodiac probably put that name as a goof. Richard Nixon was a scumbag so I wouldn't toss out the idea of him being behind the Zodiac murders either, perhaps having some of his people commit the crimes. I always thought Zodiac could have been created as a cover, to draw attention away from something else. Not out of the question.
Richard Grinell pointed out that Nixon was our 37th president. How many kills did Z claim? 37. He was president from 1969 until 1974... hmmm...

That Albany handwriting looks nowhere near the Zodiac letters IMO.

Why is it that when they showed Craig's '340 solved' it only had maybe 1/4 or 1/5 of the top part deciphered and then a name at the bottom? I call BS.

Re: The Hunt for the Zodiac series on History Channel
I just sent the following email to A&E Networks:
Hell-o there. As a Zodiac researcher for several years, I must applaud you on your miniseries, the Hunt for the Zodiac Killer. Although there were things I did not like about it and things I would have done differently, I still enjoyed watching it. I hope that there will be a second season, and that is why I am writing to you. My personal opinion is that the Zodiac was not just one person. I believe there were a minimum of two involved. My suggestion is that (assuming there will be a second season) you include a suspect named Fred Manalli. My belief is that Manalli was Zodiac's "partner" and that it was he that wrote the Zodiac letters. This is why no suspect ever had matching handwriting and DNA, because the killer did not write the letters. Apparently Manalli's sister is willing to provide DNA to have tested. I am fairly certain Manalli's DNA will be a match. His handwriting is identical to the zodiac letters and there are other things that make him an interesting suspect. If you feel inclined, one thing to research is a personal ad placed in the San Fran Chronicle which is addressed to Zodiac and shows up in the Chronicle two days after Manalli was killed in a car accident. I could go on and on, but I don't want to waste your time. Half of the fun of being a Zodiac researcher is finding the information!
Anyways, I'm sure you will find this man an interesting suspect shall you decide to look into him.
I also have one more suggestion. And this is amazing stuff! A good friend of mine named Randall Clemons has done some fascinating work with all of the Zodiac communications and has found some things that might just blow your mind! All of his research can be found at www.zodiackillerenigma.com
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to more great programming!! If you have any questions or would like to reach me, please feel to email me back.
Cheers,

I found a blog post from 2009 that mentions Richard Nixon as a Zodiac suspect...
