"If anyone from the pool (not the water connection!)of suspects that were interviewed stood out it would be a Canadian Nationalist that was the evening Security officer at the hotel or Sahara Tahoe where Lass worked. His supervsor thought he was the best man he had on duty and was surprised that a private detective hired by the Lass family wanted to intervew him.
His name was George Victor Jonasson,WMA,6'3";235 lbs.;blonde hair; blue eyes;6/22/44. He came from 535 Grand Forks ,ND.He had no criminal record to date then.Divorced with small child in ND.
He was a 'heavy drinker and was unstable.'He was "not be be believed all the time."
Jonasson said Donna was a "square" and that he could not get to 'first base' with her.'They had 'drinks together' from time to time.George came into work drunk the following night (Sunday)after Donna vanished. This had never happened before. He was sent home.
He moved twice in the 10 days Donna's sister was in Tahoe.George left Tahoe the last week of November 1970 and moved to Canada, but I believe he is now living in Texas.A simple search will show his residence.
When Joanne Donna's nurse friend came to visit Donna to spend the Labor Day evening with her along with a friend she brought with her she said that Vic followed them for some time that night as they were looking for Donna. They left around 4:00AM as Joanne didn't know the address of Lass' new apartment.
Joanne claimed that George would not tell her Donna wasn't at work.Mary was very suspicious of him and felt he 'knew more than he let on.'
I think the Tahoe police need to interview him. Don't hold your breath.
I personally feel he is a legitiment suspect, but that he was not responsible for her disappearance. You can never be sure so it's always good to stay open. They really need to interogate him.Poly him too.
I think he knew he was a suspect and that he could be blamed for her disappearance so he acted accordingly.I think he liked Donna and felt badly that she had vanished. His scedule was examined by the police and he did not fit into a situation where he could have been responsible for taking her.
It was not just Joansson that claimed he didn't know where Donna was,but tthers that worked there had the same story.
It's possible the manager/owner of the hotel wanted them to be quiet until the police looked into the situation. Also,PR too as it is not good when a hotel has a possible kidnapping of a nurse! Then there is liability and a possible lawsuit, etc. "

I don't believe so. That, of course, would only make him a suspect for Donna Lass and not the Zodiac killings.
