JonBenét Ramsey cold case
JonBenét Ramsey is a much more recent case which involved the murder of a child beauty pageant contestant who was killed in her home in Boulder, Colorado in 1996. At the time of her death JonBenét Ramsey was six years old and her body was discovered in the basement of her home eight hours after her parents reported her missing. JonBenét had been struck on the head and strangled. The most common theory in the murder of the six year old was that her parents and brother had played a role in her death; however, DNA evidence found on JonBenét’s clothes indicated that they were not involved; In July of 2008 both of JonBenét’s parents would be cleared in the investigation in to her death.
In December of 2003 DNA from blood found on JonBenét Ramsey’s clothes was collected and a DNA profile was created. The profile was placed in to CODIS (the FBI’S Combined DNA Index System) to maintain a record of its profile. To date there have been no matches to the DNA profile found on JonBenét Ramsey’s clothing. It was found, however, that in the months preceding JonBenét Ramsey’s death, there were more than 100 burglaries in the area. In 2006 a former schoolteacher, John Mark Karr confessed to being with JonBenét at the time of her death; however, his DNA profile did not match that of JonBenét and no charges were filed against Karr for involvement in the case. The mystery of JonBenét Ramsey’s death remains unsolved.

I can't believe it has been nearly 20 years since JonBenet's murder.

Re: JonBenét Ramsey cold case
Who ever did it was not there first time killing. That is what I think.
He was very comfortable staying in their home for some time. I think that he was probably one of the guests who had been there the night they had the open house party.
I also think that the 911 call placed that night was by the killer , to see just how much time he had to get away if a call would be placed the night of the killing.
Has anyone ever looked closely at the ransom note ? There are certain words that jump out at me. The writing is very familier except that who ever did it had the shakes. This tells me he is a older man , some older people do get shakey. Look again at that writing. Did you know that John Ramsey had a office in south San Francisco ? It was called Access Graphics.

A private investigator probing the December 1996 murder of JonBenet Ramsey believes a suspect still has yet to be thoroughly investigated, he said Friday.
Ollie Gray, who was originally hired by the 6-year-old Boulder, Colo., girl’s parents to probe her strangling death, said in an interview on the “Today” show that a man who died shortly after in what was ruled a suicide may have been involved.
“There are probably three or four people who should have been investigated earlier and still need to be investigated,” Gray told NBC. “The latest development in this particular case as far as I'm concerned is Michael Helgoth. He was basically a hellraiser.”
Helgoth, 26, worked at an auto salvage yard outside of town and died two days after the local district attorney announced in January 1997 that the list of suspects had narrowed. Investigators and news coverage focused on JonBenet’s parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, for years before DNA evidence ruled them out.
The child beauty pageant winner's killer remains a mystery to this day. Yet Gray, who has been raising Helgoth’s name publicly for years, said on Friday he thinks Helgoth recorded a confession before his death.
“I don't think Mike did all this by himself. I think there was more than one or two people involved,” Gray said.
A 2004 investigation by "48 Hours" noted DNA evidence didn’t show Helgoth at the scene of the crime and a bootprint near the house thought to look like his boots didn’t prove a match even though they looked similar.
Yet Gray told CBS at the time that the gun used in Helgoth’s death turned up on the left side of the right-handed man. And a coworker revealed Helgoth had spoken of making $50,000 to $60,000 on a “killer deal” and said he “wanted to crack a human skull” in the months before JonBenet’s death.
“We were walking along at the end of the day, just as calm as can be. He just casually comes up and says, ‘I wonder what it'd be like to crack a human skull,’” the coworker, John Kenady, said at the time. “And I looked at him and I thought, ‘Whoa, I don't want to have this conversation.’”
Kenady said he turned in his information to investigators. A representative for the Boulder Police Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.
The department said in a statement to NBC News that two detectives continue to investigate the case and “receive information on a regular basis that is evaluated.”

Re: JonBenét Ramsey cold case
Look again at the 3 page ransom note. The guy who was murdered was made to look like a suicide. If the killer wanted to make it look like someone else did it, that would be a good way to do it. I still say it was a older man who has killed before.
Lou Smit was the better PI in that case for the Ramsey's.
