Anna S. Aarons cold case
Someone asked me to look into this. So far what I know is that Anna S. Aarons was murdered in her home in Alamo, CA on April 28, 1969, bludgeoned in the head. She was born in 1919. Her husband was a psychiatrist named Zelig Alexander Aarons. Her daughter, Victoria Aarons, is a writer.
There is also an Edward S. Aarons who was a writer and may be a relative as well, although he was from the east coast. I'll do more digging on him later. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_S._Aarons
Apparently, two men robbed a home in the Aarons' neighborhood on April 7, 1969 where they bound and gagged a couple. If I read the info I was given correctly, it seems like Anna's husband, Zelig, thinks that the robbers came back into the neighborhood and killed his wife three weeks later, unless he killed her himself and said that to give the cops something that would take their focus off of him. I'm not too sure.

July 30, 1969 Tucson Daily Citizen from Tucson, Arizona newspaper has an article about the murder, and a strange coincidence is that Melvin Belli was representing a woman who was a suspect in the murder, a woman named Winnie Ruth Judd, aka "The Tiger Woman" and "The Trunk Murderer."

Re: Anna S. Aarons cold case
The name Zelig Alexander Aarons immediately made me think of a guy I had researched a while back named Meyer Aaron Zeligs (born 1909), who was also a psychiatrist. Weird coincidence, right?
Zelig Alexander Aarons was born in 1913 to Jacob David Aarons and Tina Katzoff.

Re: Anna S. Aarons cold case
One of the things that caught my attention in Anna's case was that she was attacked in the patio of her home, the date matches up to a Zodiac letter written on the one year anniversary of her murder, April 28th 1970. She was not robbed , very odd if it were robbers who killed her right? Alamo is also the area where a shoe belonging to the murdered teen Elaine Davis was found. She was taken from her Walnut "Creek" home on Dec 1 1969, her body was found in the water near Santa Cruz. Anna's husband was a psychiatrist, could his wife have been a target because if his profession? Remember Dr Adams who received a letter that was believed to be from Zodiac? He was also a psychiatrist and lived about 15 or 20 min from Dr. Aarons. Could Zodiac have something against psychiatrists and nurses? Pleasanton was where Zodiac sent a letter from, that is also very close the Alamo. A person believed to be Zodiac was spotted near that area, San Ramon I think? I need to check the date on that sighting.
Lets not forget about the Zodiac suspect who was pulled over who lived in Pleasant Hill? All of the areas that I have just mentioned, are very close to each other and very close to Mt Diablo! Something to think about.

Re: Anna S. Aarons cold case
The possibility of Zodiac, or even another killer, targeting psychiatrists is very interesting. I have been looking into that for over a year, and this just adds to my suspicion of that. Dr. Meyer Zeligs lived right there at Washington & Cherry, and his office was just two blocks from where Paul Stine picked up Zodiac.
Which suspect lived in Pleasant Hill??

The report didn't give a name. I think it was right after the Lake B case. He was caught speeding and looked suspicious, because of something the officer saw in the car. The drivers license showed his address as Pleasant Hill. Not sure if I read that in Graysmiths book or in a police report? I use to live in Pleasant Hill, so that stood out when I read that. Patricia King's murder in Pleasant Hill is still unsolved. She was killed at Diablo Valley collage ( Construction was going on at that time!)

Re: Anna S. Aarons cold case
Hmm that does sound familiar. Was this the guy that had a knife or some kind of weapon in his car when he was pulled over and was taken to jail because he looked like the Stine sketch?
Re: Anna S. Aarons cold case
That sounds about right and they had to let him go for lack of evidence. Wish we had a way to get that name!

Re: Anna S. Aarons cold case
I thought the newspaper article had his name. I'll see if I can find it again.
Re: Anna S. Aarons cold case
I didn't think to look for it in a newspaper. Not sure where he was pulled over but I would think somewhere in Napa or Vallejo, heading towards Pleasant Hill? I have a Napa library card, all I need is the date he was pulled over, assuming it was the end of Sept.,that shouldn't be too hard for me to find. That would be great if you have it on this site! There has to be many people who would like to know who that guy was?

Re: Anna S. Aarons cold case
I have been looking for the thread but having no luck finding it. I do remember seeing a newspaper article and posting it somewhere. I could have swore it had the guys name too, but I could be wrong.
