Vallejo PD & FD strike of 1969 Empty Vallejo PD & FD strike of 1969

Shortly after the Blue Rock Springs attack, Vallejo PD & FR both went on strike. The strking firefighters would call in a false alarm and a few trucks would go out and find a note saying "ha ha ha." Sounds like something Z would do. I doubt there is a connection between Z and this strike, but thought it was worth mentioning.

I'm not sure what lead to the strike, but I guess an historic church in Vallejo had burned down and may have had something to do with it. It was the Ascension Church on Georgia St., which had recently celebrated it's 100th anniversary. I'm not sure if it was arson or what, can't find much about it. This was just a couple weeks after the attack on Ferrin & Mageau so I do find it interesting. The church was very close to Mare Island (I do think there's a good chance Z worked here) and about 4 1/2 miles from Blue Rock Springs.

Good find. I wasn't aware of this happening. Not sure what to make of it though but I can imagine the fear in people knowing they would not be able to rely on LE and there is a killer on the loose.

Yeah, that would be pretty scary.

Holly Molley , that is a very good find ! Zodiac and my stalker both use Ha ha ha !!!!!! We need to find out if that was where Darlene had her funeral ?
I don't remember ever reading about that fire. There was a suspicious fire at the Catholic church in Antioch on A st back in the 80's. During all of the female murders there and in Pittsburg. All of them were killed by an unknown serial killer! That serial killer called the police and wrote to them, saying he was thee Zodiac, but they didn't want to believe it.

Good find. This could be something big. Ophion, when you get back can you maybe try to track down any of Vallejo PD or FD and get more details.

Ophion, I hope that you get some rest and get what you need done. Then come back refreshed and do what you do.
I hope I didn't post too much and wear you out? It is a lot to think about.

Thanks, Sandy! Post as much as you like, I love when I come on here and there are a bunch of new posts to read. I just have a lot of stress to deal with and probably will for a few months until I get things in order. No big deal. I was going to take some time off, but John e-mailed me and wanted me to post some information on that Dr. I was researching, so I didn't end up getting my break. But I posted all I have found on the guy as well as a few other things I just started researching, so I am logging off now and will take a break for a week or two. But I will be back!!

John, don't scare anyone off while I'm away. Evil or Very Mad

That would be great, but it is pretty far like John said. And you would be bored down here I'm sure.

I did some digging in to this strike and basically found nothing other than what you posted already. I wish we could find out more details.

Haha, yeah. It's funny for me because I pictured it in my head when they got out to a call and there was a note saying "ha ha ha."

Notice the link saying "Click here to read more about the hotel's connection to the Zodiac." I can't wait to read that.

The link in the link takes you to a thread at Voigt's site so I guess the strike is not new news. Still interesting though.

Looks like Voight had a thread on this year's ago. I didn't read much of the thread but from what I saw it was mostly just people speculation on the subject and really nothing more.
