Why the LA Times? Empty Why the LA Times?

Why did Zodiac send this particular letter to the LA Times instead of the SF Chronicle? He claimes the Times didn't bury him on the back pages like some of the others. What others? Did any others actually bury him in the back pages?

Was it just so people would believe he actually was the one who killer Cheri Jo when in reality he was probably just taking credit for a murder he did not commit?

This is most likely correct. He was either taking credit for a murder he didn't commit, or he was the murderer and wanted to make sure people knew it. I'm pretty much 50-50 on Z being the killer of Cheri, but I would think he would have put some of the details of the murder into this letter if he were the killer.
